Personal Description
Hi my name is Colleen Sherman I am 29 years old and have lived in Seattle for the past 12 years. I have been a nanny for 10 of those years. I grew up in Elcajon CA with my parents and two brothers, of whom I was the oldest. My first babysitting was taking care of them for my mom. I got my first job at 16 as dishwasher in a small steak house. Then when I was 18 my grandmother took custody of my 3 young cosines and needed help I moved in and became there nanny. This is what gave me a taste for this kind of work and I loved it. When that ended I managed a subway and watressed for a while and in 1999 I did the first year of an internship at the city church with a focus on children’s ministry. Upon completion I took a job as a live-in nanny for a family with 8 children two of whom were medically fragile. It was a g reat learning experience. A bit hectic at times but lots of fun too. After a year they had a financial hardship and had to let me go. My next job was for the Reeces I loved this job I worked for the kid’s grandmother and became something of a family nanny for all of her grand kids. My main charges were Alex 4 and Audrey 9 months. Buy the time I left to do a second year of interns they had 2 sisters Aleka and Abigail. In 2004 I started a job for Rick Sanderson he was recently widowed and had 2 wonderful little girls. I was a live-in and did everything a mom would do for them. One year later he got remarried and I moved on. I had a short lived job as a livein in Woodinville. The children were a newborn and a 2 year old. After four months the mother decided she couldn’t stand to miss her girls so she gave up her business and became a stay at home mom. I then worked for the Brooks they had 4 children ages 6, 10,12 and 14 I was with them for a year and a half, he w as a mortgage broker and lost his money and could no longer aforred a nanny. This brings me to my present job as a live in nanny for a couple with 2 kids. I am living in but don’t feel it is a good match, so have decided to move on.
