I recently graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Family Studies minor. I have always enjoyed working with children and the majority of my previous work experience is with children. I completed an internship with Rappahannock Big Brothers Big Sisters, which is a nonprofit child support services organization. I have also worked at a child care facility (Learn n' Play) for two consecutive summers, primarily with school-aged children. In addition, I volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Harrisonburg-Rockingham county, in which I mentored an underprivileged school-age girl for almost 2 years. I was able to increase her self-esteem and confidence, throughout our match. I have also completed additional volunteer services through my education at James Madison University. I was a Volunteer Student Tutor, which I tutored a middle school girl, in her home. All of this information and more can be seen in my work experience. In addition, I am outgoing and enjoy being active. I would consider myself to be highly organized, punctual, and dedicated to my work.

Hey there! My name is Heather Ruffin. I am 20 years old and currently live in Chamblee. I am struggling to get the money for a car, but until then, I am on marta or catching rides with friends. I'm sure we all know how that can be! I have tons of experience working with all ages. My first job was at my local church working in the nursery. I'd say that was about the time i fell in love with kids. :) Since then, I cant resist the smiling face of a young person. Kids teach us more than we see. My long term goal is to become a kindergarten or first grade teacher. I need to complete college classes first and in order to do that i need money!
